$150,000 Ice Fishing Extravaganza

The Brainerd Jaycees $150,000 Ice Fishing Extravaganza is the world’s largest charitable ice
fishing contest. We have held it annually since January 1991 and have donated $2.8-million
to over 50 area charities because of its success. It takes three days to set-up the two-square
mile contest site, the contest is three hours long, and over 12,000 contestants and spectators
attend annually. Contestants compete for well over $150,000 in prizes. Over 350 volunteers
work on “The Contest” and there are numerous opportunities for Jaycees to get involved in
various aspects of the event.
